   eConscious Market: Transparency

eConscious Market is proud to announce and post the exact dollar amount of our donations since its Beta launch in August of 2007. As a For-Benefit company, eConscious Market we donate at least 10% of every retail purchase to the Social Profit organization chosen by the customer. We believe that this model could potentially transform commerce from a simple act of buying, to a two-fold act of buying AND giving. We hope that one day, all companies follow this philanthropic model of business.

Many of us can believe that capitalism as we know it has proven itself to be unsustainable. However, we also realize that we need thriving economies to "survive" in today's world. That's why eConscious Market was born: to merge the best of capitalism with the best of philanthropy; to merge the for-profit sector with the non-profit sector; to make conscious buying and giving really easy.

The list you see below is a breakdown of our donations for 2007. As a start-up company, we are not profitable, yet! However, we feel that our non-profit partners who were selected by our customers deserve recognition, even if it is pale in comparison to what our goal is: to donate 50% of every single purchase. So, we decided to donate 10% of pre-profit purchases.

The formula is simple: the more people buy from eConscious Market, the more donations we (and you) get to give away. And, the more we can support the amazing eco and fair trade vendors who are blazing the trail towards true sustainability. Why purchase anywhere else?

Stay tuned as we continue to add more Non-Profits for you to choose from. We are also adding to our selection of eco products every day, so remember to bookmark us, tell your friends about us, and shop now and help support the Internet's largest philanthropic eco market!
